KPK suspects BPK audit manipulation for Empat Lawang Regency
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the results of a Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) audit of the financial reports of the Empat Lawang Regency Government, South Sumatra, were manipulated.
As such, Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK Achmad Taufik Husein said the KPK currently suspects that BPK audit results were manipulated for three regional governments in South Sumatra.
“So, there are several regions, namely Muara Enim, PALI (Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir), and the third is Empat Lawang,” said Taufik at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He said the KPK suspects that BPK audits of the three regional governments were manipulated based on the discovery of a number of documentary and electronic evidence.
One piece of evidence, he said, was a conversation between suspect Titin Rita Lestari (T) and Augusz Dewanggara (A).
“The discovery of several documents and electronic evidence shows that this examiner suspect, T, and A, had conversations,” he said.
“So, this is just to add, or to add evidence that the unlawful acts committed by the suspect in Muara Enim also occurred in other regions,” he added.
Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation on 7–8 June 2026 and detained a number of parties, including Muara Enim Regent Edison.
On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
The four suspects were Edison, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office Abi Nurwardani, marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Cory Erin Hardi, and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew.
On 11 June 2026, the KPK named five suspects in a case of alleged bribery involving the manipulation of BPK audit results for the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025 fiscal year.
The five suspects were Edison, Cory Erin Hardi, Director of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Fika Nur Alawi, private party Augusz Dewanggara, and BPK RI civil servant Titin Rita Lestari.
Augusz is alleged to have previously served as an expert staff member to BPK RI Member V Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi, while Titin previously served as Chair of the BPK South Sumatra Representative Audit Team.
On 13–14 July 2026, the KPK searched Bobby’s residence and seized a number of electronic evidence. Bobby was subsequently examined as a witness by the KPK on 16 July 2026.
