KPK Supports Completion of Febrie Adriansyah Case, Ready to Assist Supervision

The KPK fully supports efforts to resolve the corruption cases in the coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel sectors that have implicated former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah. The KPK is confident that the handling of this case will proceed according to the proper mechanism.

“We have also seen a strong commitment between the police and the Attorney General’s Office to continue synergising in the investigation process of this case. Therefore, we also believe the handling of this case will proceed according to its mechanism, investigators will work professionally so that the investigation file can be completed soon,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Monday (13/7/2026).

“And of course, the KPK also fully supports the anti-corruption efforts undertaken by the police and the Attorney General’s Office,” he continued.

Budi stated he would first check whether a supervision request for the case had been submitted to the KPK. He noted that coordination with the KPK regarding the supervision of a case had already been carried out at the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

“We will check whether it exists or not, but what is certain is that before the press conference at the Metro Jaya Police, as conveyed by the KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution yesterday, discussions had indeed taken place between the KPK and our colleagues in the police regarding the mechanisms for coordination or supervision of a case,” he said.

Budi said the KPK respects the ongoing legal process in handling this case. He stated that the meeting between National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin signalled a commitment that the investigation would be conducted professionally.

“We respect the legal process currently underway regarding the transfer of the case from the police to the Attorney General’s Office, and this is still at an early stage, so we await developments,” said Budi.

“Today we also saw together, openly conveyed by the National Police Chief and the Attorney General, the commitment of both institutions to process the investigation of this case professionally and transparently so that the public can also monitor and oversee every development in the investigation,” he added.

Budi also responded to suggestions that the KPK take over the case. He said the KPK would follow the developments of the investigation process, which had just been transferred from the National Police to the Attorney General’s Office.

“This is still at an early stage, so we will follow the developments of the investigation process at the Attorney General’s Office first, and we also believe in the professionalism of our fellow investigators at the Attorney General’s Office, especially as this is a case transfer from our colleagues in the police, who will certainly provide full support in the investigation process at the Attorney General’s Office,” he said.

In this case, Febrie Adriansyah and Don Ritto have been named suspects by the Corruption Eradication Corps. The suspect designation was made shortly after Febrie resigned from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes.

Febrie was named a suspect in connection with three alleged corruption cases, namely in the coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel sectors. The case has now been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office with supervision from the KPK and oversight by House of Representatives Commission III through the formation of a working committee.

Meanwhile, House of Representatives Commission III has confirmed it will pay special attention to the legal process concerning the coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel corruption cases. Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman stressed that the case, which has prominently implicated law enforcement officers, relates to individuals, not institutions.

“There are several points to announce. First, Commission III is taking the initiative to ensure that the case widely reported recently can proceed within the legal corridor and be thoroughly investigated according to the law,” said Habiburokhman during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office in South Jakarta on Saturday (11/7).

Habiburokhman asserted that his party would strictly oversee the process to prevent any actions exceeding legal authority between institutions during the investigation.

“Second, we also want to ensure there are no excesses, friction, or clashes between institutions regarding the handling of this case. Because, after all, this is a case related to individuals, to people, not to institutions,” he said.
