KPK Summons Wife of Hery Sudarmanto as Witness in RPTKA Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Ria Sudiyastuti, an entrepreneur and wife of the former Secretary-General of the Ministry of Manpower, Hery Sudarmanto, to be examined as a witness in an alleged extortion case involving the management of foreign worker utilisation plans (RPTKA).
“The KPK has scheduled an examination of RS (Ria) as an entrepreneur at the KPK Merah Putih Building, Jakarta,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to KPK data as of 14:10 WIB, Ria Sudiyastuti had not yet been recorded as having responded to the summons for examination.
The case relates to allegations of extortion during the processing of RPTKA within the Ministry of Manpower. According to the KPK, eight suspects are alleged to have collected approximately Rp53.7 billion through extortion in the management of RPTKA between 2019 and 2024, during the tenure of Ida Fauziyah as Minister of Manpower.
RPTKA is a mandatory requirement that foreign workers must fulfil to be permitted to work in Indonesia. These conditions allegedly prompted RPTKA applicants to provide funds to the suspects to ensure the processing of their applications could proceed.
The KPK also revealed that the alleged extortion practices in RPTKA management may have been ongoing since Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar, also known as Cak Imin, served as Minister of Manpower and Transmigration from 200_9 to 2014. The practice allegedly continued during the tenure of Hanif Dhakiri as Minister of Manpower from 2014 to 2019, and Ida Fauziyah from 2019 to 2024.
On 29 October 2025, the KPK announced the naming of a new suspect in the case, Hery Sudarmanto, who served as the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Manpower during the Hanif Dhakiri era.
