The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned two members of the Riau Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) as witnesses in the extortion case involving non-active Riau Governor Abdul Wahid. The two are Suyadi, a member of the PDIP faction, and Siti Aisyah, a member of the PKB faction.

“They are witnesses in the alleged criminal act of corruption, specifically extortion and other receipts within the Riau Provincial Government for the 2025 fiscal year,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters on Thursday (2/7/2026).

In addition to the two council members, the KPK also summoned two servers from the governor’s official residence, an aide to the Commander of the XIX/Tuanku Tambusai Military Command, and a housewife. All witnesses were summoned for questioning at the BPK Representative Office in Riau Province.

The witnesses summoned are:

  1. Mega Listari, server at the Riau Governor’s official residence

  2. Muhammad Syahrul Amin, server at the Riau Governor’s official residence

  3. Novan Alyendo, TNI/ADC to the Commander of XIX/Tuanku Tambusai

  4. Netti Ferawati, homemaker

  5. Suyadi, Member of the Riau Provincial DPRD (PDIP faction)

  6. Siti Aisyah, Member of the Riau Provincial DPRD (PKB faction)

Budi did not elaborate on the specific material of the examination. However, he stated that the witnesses were being questioned for the suspect Marjani, an aide to Abdul Wahid.

The KPK has named Marjani (MJN) as a suspect. He is suspected of acting as a money collector for Abdul Wahid. “MJN’s role is very crucial, related to collecting money from each agency head, as a representative of AW,” said Acting KPK Director of Investigation Ahmad Taufik Husein during a press conference at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Monday (13/4).

The naming of Marjani as a suspect adds to the list of suspects in this case. Previously, the KPK had named three suspects: Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, Head of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Public Housing Agency Muhammad Arief Setiawan, and Governor’s Expert Staff Dani M. Nursalam.

The KPK suspects that Abdul Wahid threatened his subordinates if they failed to pay a sum of money known as a ‘protection fee’ amounting to Rp 7 billion. There were at least three instances of fee payments in June, August, and November 2025.
