KPK Summons Transport Minister's Aide from Budi Karya and Dudy Purwagandhi Eras
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Robby Kurniawan (RK), the Aide to the Minister of Transportation during the eras of Budi Karya Sumadi and Dudy Purwagandhi, as a witness in the DJKA Ministry of Transportation case. The DJKA case concerns allegations of bribery in the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation (DJKA Ministry of Transportation). “The examination took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in the name of RK as Aide to the Minister of Transportation,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Monday. The summoning of Robby Kurniawan is the second this year in 2026. Previously, Robby was summoned by the KPK as a witness in the case on 27 April 2026, but he did not attend. During Budi Karya Sumadi’s era, Robby Kurniawan served as Aide to the Minister of Transportation for Logistics and Multimodal Transportation. Meanwhile, during Dudy Purwagandhi’s time, he was Aide to the Minister of Transportation for Regions and Environment. Previously, the case came to light following a raid operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK on 11 April 2023 at the Class I Railway Technical Office (BTP) for Central Java Region, DJKA Ministry of Transportation. Currently, the Class I BTP for Central Java Region has been renamed to Class I BTP Semarang. The KPK then designated 10 suspects who were immediately detained in connection with the alleged corruption case for railway track construction and maintenance projects in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi. As of 20 January 2026, the KPK has designated and detained a total of 21 suspects. The KPK has also designated two corporations as suspects in the case. The alleged criminal corruption case occurred in projects such as the double-track railway construction from Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso; railway track construction projects in Makassar, South Sulawesi; four railway track construction projects and two supervision projects in Lampegan Cianjur, West Java; and level crossing repair projects in Java-Sumatra. In the construction and maintenance of these projects, it is alleged that certain parties arranged the winning contractors through manipulation from the administrative process to the determination of the tender winner.
