The KPK has summoned Herimanto (HRM), Speaker of the Bengkulu City Regional Council (DPRD), and Rahmad Widodo (RW), the council’s First Deputy Speaker. Both were called as witnesses as part of an expanded investigation into a corruption case that has ensnared suspended Rejang Lebong Regent M Fikri Thobari.

“The witnesses, Mr RW and Mr HRM, are both members of the Bengkulu City DPRD,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters on Monday (7/9/2026).

The two were summoned for questioning at the KPK building in Jakarta. Budi did not yet elaborate on what investigators would probe with them.

The KPK had previously questioned two other Bengkulu City DPRD members, Vinna Ledy Anggraheni and Bambang Hermanto. Vinna Ledy had been questioned by investigators twice beforehand.

The KPK has also seized a house and a car belonging to Vinna, allegedly the proceeds of gifts from private parties in connection with project work. The KPK further suspects that money was given by businesspeople to Vinna in connection with projects in Bengkulu City.

“VLA is being questioned by investigators about her knowledge regarding procurement activities in Bengkulu City. Her testimony will of course be reviewed, analysed and cross-checked against statements from other witnesses, including findings from searches, to help investigators construct this case in full,” Budi said.

The case itself is an expansion of the matter ensnaring Rejang Lebong Regent Fikri. The KPK subsequently issued an investigation warrant (sprindik), but has not yet announced any suspects in the new case.

“It’s a general sprindik,” Budi said on Monday (20/7).

Regent Fikri was named a suspect for allegedly receiving bribes totalling Rp 1.7 billion from several projects. The case began when the Rejang Lebong Regency Government sought to carry out a number of projects in early 2026.
