KPK summons six witnesses in Sudewo case in Rembang, Central Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned six individuals as witnesses in the alleged extortion case by former Pati Regent Sudewo for examination in Rembang Regency, Central Java. “The examination of the witnesses will take place at the Sumber Police Sector, Rembang,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday. Budi stated that the six witnesses are SY, a candidate for village official in Sukorukun Village; JL, a candidate for village official in Sidoluhur Village; PMN, a candidate for village official in Trikoyo Village; AS, Head of Slungkep Village; MR, a private party; and ASH, Head of the Legal Section of the Pati Regency Regional Secretariat. Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted a raid operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency, Central Java. The following day, 20 January 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo along with seven others to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta for investigation processing. On the same date, the KPK named four suspects in the alleged extortion related to the filling of village official positions in Pati Regency. They are Sudewo (SDW); Head of Karangrowo Village Abdul Suyono (YON); Head of Arumanis Village Sumarjiono (JION); and Head of Sukorukun Village Karjan (JAN). In addition, Sudewo has also been named a suspect in the alleged bribery of a railway construction and maintenance project within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
