KPK summons six witnesses after naming new suspect in Customs and Excise case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned six witnesses for questioning on Wednesday (22/7), after naming a new suspect in an alleged corruption case within the Ministry of Finance’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise. “The KPK has scheduled the examination of six witnesses in the development of the Customs and Excise investigation. The examination will take place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday. Budi stated that the witnesses consist of PT Blueray Cargo Human Resources and Finance staff member Vini Leveri Vie, Head of the Customs and Excise Dismissal and Retirement Subdivision Akhmad Fikri Yahmani, and Yohanes Setiawan, the personal assistant to convicted individual John Field. The case originated from a sting operation within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance on 4 February 2026. The KPK initially named six suspects on 5 February 2026. They were Rizal, the Director of Enforcement and Investigation at Customs and Excise for the 2024–January 2026 period who was serving as Head of the West Sumatra Customs and Excise Regional Office; Sisprian Subiaksono, Head of the Customs and Excise Enforcement and Investigation Intelligence Sub-Directorate; and Orlando Hamonangan, Head of the Customs and Excise Intelligence Section. The other suspects were Blueray Cargo owner John Field, Blueray Cargo Import Documentation Team Leader Andri, and Blueray Cargo Operational Manager Dedy Kurniawan. On 21 July 2026, the KPK announced the expansion of the case by issuing two investigation warrants (sprindik). The KPK named a suspect whose identity has not yet been disclosed to the public in one of the sprindiks, while the other still uses a general sprindik, meaning no suspect has been named yet.
