KPK Summons Ono Surono's Wife in Connection with Bekasi Regency Bribery Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled an
examination of Setyowati Anggraini Saputro (SAS), the wife of PDIP
politician Ono Surono, on Tuesday (7 April 2026). Setyowati Anggraini
will be questioned as a witness in the case of alleged bribery involving
advance payments for projects that has ensnared inactive Bekasi Regent
Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK).
“Correct (Ono Surono’s wife will be
examined),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Tuesday
(7 April 2026).
The examination will take place at KPK
headquarters. The KPK has not detailed the questions that will be posed
to Setyowati. “The examination will be conducted at the KPK Red and
White Building,” Budi stated.
The KPK had previously searched two
homes owned by Ono Surono located in Bandung City and Indramayu Regency.
The KPK dismissed allegations of intimidation towards Ono’s wife during
the search process.
“There was none (intimidation action). The
search activity proceeded smoothly and well. Even the family received
the activity openly,” Budi said.
The KPK also confirmed that the
searches were to gather additional evidence in the case. Through the
searches, the KPK seized documents, electronic evidence, and cash
amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah.
“In this search, the
investigators found and seized several pieces of evidence. This evidence
will later assist the investigation process of this case,” Budi
said.
The KPK has designated Bekasi Regent for the 2025–present
period, Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK), along with his father HM Kunang (HMK),
as suspects in the alleged corruption case involving the receipt of
gratuities or promises in the form of project advance money.
This
suspect designation is a follow-up to the KPK’s raid operation conducted
on Thursday, 18 December 2025, in Bekasi Regency. In addition to Ade and
HM Kunang, the KPK also designated private individual Sarjan (SRJ) as a
suspect for giving bribes.
Ade Kuswara is alleged to have
communicated with Sarjan since late 2024, after being inaugurated as
regent. From December 2024 to December 2025, Ade and his father are
alleged to have routinely requested project advances from Sarjan, even
though the projects had not yet commenced.
“The total advance
given by SRJ to ADK and HMK reached Rp9.5 billion, carried out in four
handovers through intermediaries,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement
and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, during a press conference
at the KPK Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Saturday (20
December 2025).
Ade Kuswara is also alleged to have received
other fund flows from several parties throughout 2025, with a total
value of Rp4.7 billion. In the raid operation, the KPK seized cash
evidence of Rp200 million at Ade’s home, which is suspected to be the
remainder of the fourth advance payment from Sarjan.
For their
actions, Ade Kuswara and HM Kunang are charged with violating Article 12
letter a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law
in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Sarjan is charged under Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b
or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law.
