The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned the Head of the Muara Enim Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP), Tarmizi Ismail, for questioning as a witness. The investigation concerns a suspected bribery case implicating the inactive Muara Enim Regent, Edison. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the examination was scheduled at the South Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade headquarters. Tarmizi, identified by his initials TRM, previously served as the acting head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency.

In addition to TRM, the KPK summoned eight other witnesses to further the investigation. These individuals include several employees of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, identified by their initials ETI, DAM, TRI, EKA, DVN, SEP, and NUR, as well as Faisal Al Akhmed, a former secretary of the same office who now serves as the Head of Governance at the Muara Enim Regional Secretariat.

The case originated from a sting operation conducted on 7 and 8 June 2026, which led to the arrest of ten individuals in Jakarta and South Sumatra. Among those detained was the then-Regent of Muara Enim, Edison. The KPK subsequently named four suspects on 9 June 2026 in connection with alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year. The suspects include Edison, Abi Nurwardani (Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office), Cory Erin Hardi (a marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi), and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew.

A follow-up operation on 10 June 2026 resulted in the arrest of five state civil servants from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK). The KPK then named five suspects on 11 June 2026 for alleged bribery related to conditioning a BPK audit of the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025 fiscal year. These suspects are Edison, Cory Erin Hardi, PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Director Fika Nur Alawi, private sector actor and former expert staff to a member of the House of Representatives Augusz Dewanggara, and BPK civil servant and former head of the South Sumatra BPK audit team Titin Rita Lestari.
