KPK Summons KAI Properti CEO as Witness in DJKA Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned the President Director of PT KA Properti Manajemen, Mohammad Ramdany, for questioning as a witness in a suspected bribery case related to railway construction and maintenance projects under the Directorate General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that Ramdany is scheduled to be examined at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta. The case came to light following a sting operation by the KPK at the Class I Railway Engineering Centre for the Central Java Region on 11 April 2023. The agency is now known as the Class I Railway Engineering Centre Semarang. Since the investigation began, the KPK has named and detained 21 suspects. Among them is Sudewo, a member of the House of Representatives Commission V for the 2019–2024 period. Two companies have also been named as corporate suspects. The projects under investigation include the Solo Balapan–Kadipiro–Kalioso double-track railway, railway construction in Makassar, four construction projects and two supervision projects in Lampegan, Cianjur, as well as level-crossing improvement works in Java and Sumatra. The KPK suspects that contract winners were predetermined through manipulation of the procurement process, from the administrative stage to the final tender award.
