The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned the Head of the Jakarta Class I Railway Engineering Centre (BTP), Ferdian Suryo Adhi Pramono, for examination as a witness in a suspected bribery case related to railway line construction and maintenance projects within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) at the Ministry of Transportation. “The KPK has scheduled a witness examination for the DJKA Ministry of Transportation case for FSA,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday. According to Budi, the examination of Ferdian Suryo is scheduled to take place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta. The case came to light after the KPK conducted a sting operation at the Class I Railway Engineering Centre for the Central Java Region on 11 April 2023. This institution is now known as the Semarang Class I Railway Engineering Centre. In the investigation of this case, the KPK initially named 10 people as suspects and detained them in connection with alleged corruption in railway construction and maintenance projects in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi. Subsequently, as of 20 January 2026, the KPK had named and detained 21 suspects, including Sudewo, a member of Commission V of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the 2019–2024 period. In addition, two companies have also been named as corporate suspects. The case encompasses the Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso double-track railway project, railway line construction in Makassar, four railway construction projects and two supervision projects in Lampegan, Cianjur, as well as level crossing repair projects in Java and Sumatra. The KPK suspects that project winners were predetermined through manipulation of the procurement process, from the administrative stage to the determination of the tender winner.
