KPK summons four BPK civil servants over Muara Enim bribery case
Four civil servants from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) South Sumatra representative office have been summoned by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators. They were called today for examination as witnesses in connection with alleged bribery of BPK officials by Muara Enim Regent Edison.
“Witnesses in the alleged corruption case related to BPK audit findings within the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
In addition to the four BPK employees, KPK investigators also summoned another witness, Bunga Intani Pratiwi, a government employee with a work agreement (PPPK) at the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office. The witnesses will be examined at the South Sumatra Provincial BPKP representative office.
The list of witnesses is as follows: Bunga Intani Pratiwi, PPPK at the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office; Novia Dewi Sartika, civil servant at BPK South Sumatra representative office; Benny Murdani, civil servant at BPK South Sumatra representative office; Cendy Avrian, civil servant at BPK South Sumatra representative office; and Wenny Lia, civil servant at BPK South Sumatra representative office.
In investigating this case, the KPK previously examined Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) Regent Asgianto. The KPK found allegations that Regent Asgianto requested that his region also obtain an unqualified opinion (WTP) from BPK, as Muara Enim Regency had done.
Budi Prasetyo said the PALI region had not obtained a WTP opinion since 2013. Asgianto, as regent, allegedly sought assistance from Angga, one of the suspects in the BPK bribery case, so that his region would obtain a WTP opinion.
“So the PALI Regent requested assistance from Mr AG, who is also a suspect in this case, and also from Mr BB (Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi), who had previously been summoned as a witness, on how PALI Regency could obtain a WTP opinion,” Budi said on Tuesday (18/8).
Furthermore, from Asgianto’s testimony, investigators also obtained information that this practice occurred in several other regions.
“From the PALI Regent’s testimony, it was confirmed that the BPK audit findings issue did not only occur in Muara Enim Regency, but is also alleged to have occurred in other regions. Investigators will therefore continue to deepen and trace allegations of similar practices,” he said.
For context, Muara Enim Regent Edison was arrested by the KPK in a sting operation on Monday (8/6). The KPK then named Edison a suspect on Tuesday (9/6).
Besides Edison, the KPK named three other people as suspects: Abi Nurwardani, Secretary of the Education and Culture Office for 2026; Adi Triyadi, the regent’s nephew; and Cory Erin Hardi, marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi.
The KPK suspects Edison received Rp 500 million in bribes from Cory. The bribe was allegedly received through Abi Nurwardani.
The bribe was allegedly money to maintain a ‘good relationship’ because PT MSA, as a smart board supplier, had obtained a procurement project from the Muara Enim Regency Government in 2025. In addition, Abi received money from other agency partners in Muara Enim. The KPK seized approximately Rp 1.9 billion in this case.
On Wednesday (10/6), the KPK also conducted a sting operation against five BPK civil servants. The KPK then named five suspects in the alleged bribery case from Edison to BPK officials. The KPK revealed that BPK officials requested Rp 1.6 billion to alter audit results.
Five people were named suspects in this case: Angga, a private party; Titin Rita Lestari, a civil servant or technical controller; Edison, Muara Enim Regent; Cory Erin Hardi, marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi; and Fika, a director of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi.
