KPK summons former Secretary of Kemensos' Directorate General for Social Empowerment in rice aid case
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Bambang Sugeng (BS), the former Secretary of the Directorate General for Social Empowerment (Dayasos) of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), as a witness in an alleged case of corruption in the distribution of rice aid to beneficiaries under the Family Hope Programme (PKH) in 2020. “The examination of BS as Sesditjen Dayasos Kemensos from 12 March 2020 to January 2021, and as the budget user (KPA) of the Dayasos Directorate General Kemensos for 2020-2021,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Thursday. He added that Bambang Sugeng is scheduled to be examined by the KPK at Polresta Yogyakarta, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Previously, on 15 March 2023, the KPK announced the initiation of an investigation into alleged corruption in the distribution of rice aid to PKH beneficiaries under Kemensos for 2020–2021. On 23 August 2023, the KPK announced the suspects in the case, which had resulted in losses to the state of up to Rp326 billion. They were: Ivo Wongkaren (IW), Chief Executive Officer of PT Mitra Energi Persada and a member of the Advisory Team of PT Primalayan Teknologi Persada in 2020; Roni Ramdani (RR), Advisory Team member of PT Primalayan Teknologi Persada; and Richard Cahyanto (RC), General Manager of PT Trimalayan Teknologi Persada and Director of PT Envio Global Persada. Then the Director and Chief Executive Officer of PT Bhanda Ghara Reksa or BGR Logistics (Persero) from 2018–2021 Muhammad Kuncoro Wibowo (MKW); Commercial Director of BGR Logistics from 2018–2021 Budi Susanto (BS); and Operational Vice President of BGR Logistics from 2018-2021 April Churniawan (AC). On 19 August 2025, the KPK announced developments in the case for the rice aid distribution cluster by PT Dosni Roha Indonesia (DNR), and prevented four individuals from travelling abroad. On the same date, the KPK announced that three individuals and two corporations had been named suspects in the rice aid distribution cluster, with the state estimated to have suffered losses of up to Rp200 billion. Based on KPK statements recapped on 11 September 2025, 2 October 2025, and 25 February 2026, the three suspects are: Rudy Tanoesoedibjo (BRT), the Chairman of PT Dosni Roha Logistics and Director of DNR; Edi Suharto (ES), Senior Advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs on Social Change and Dynamics; and Kanisius Jerry Tengker (KJT), Director of DNR Logistics (2018–2022). Meanwhile PT DNR and DNR Logistics are identified as corporate suspects.
