KPK Summons Former Madiun PUPR Department Head as Witness in Mayor Maidi Case
The KPK has summoned Suwarno, the former Head of the PUPR Department in Madiun. He has been called to be examined as a witness for the suspect, the inactive Mayor of Madiun, Maidi.
“SW, retired civil servant, former Head of the PUPR Department,” explained KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
In addition to Suwarno, the KPK has summoned two other witnesses from the private sector named Yuni Setyawati and Nanang Zuniardi. They have been called to be examined at the KPK building on Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.
“The examination is being conducted at the KPK’s Red and White Building,” stated Budi.
Previously, the KPK had examined the Acting Mayor of Madiun, Bagus Panuntun (BP), in this case. The KPK grilled Bagus about allegations that Maidi requested CSR funds from private parties.
“In today’s examination, the witnesses are being questioned in depth about their knowledge related to the processes of planning and requesting CSR funds carried out by the suspect Mayor of Madiun to private parties,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Monday (11/5).
In this case, the KPK has named Maidi as a suspect in alleged extortion and gratification. Maidi is suspected of demanding fees from business permits in Madiun.
The KPK seized Rp 550 million in cash in the case involving Maidi. A total of three individuals have been named as suspects in this case, with the following identities:
Mayor of Madiun, Maidi
Head of the Madiun City PUPR Department, Thariq Megah
Private party, Rochim Rudiyanto
