KPK Summons Former ASTRA Infra Port Director in PPT Energy Trading Corruption Probe
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned a director of PT Pelabuhan Penajam Banua Taka (ASTRA Infra Port Eastkal) from the 2017-2022 period for questioning as a witness in a case of alleged corruption related to the management of investment capital and long-term loans at the Indonesia-Japan joint venture, PPT Energy Trading Co., Ltd. The commission has also named suspects in the case but has yet to announce their identities to the public. According to PPT ET’s official website, PT Pertamina (Persero) holds a 50 per cent stake in the Indonesia-Japan joint venture. The remaining 50 per cent is owned by 13 Japanese companies, including Toyota Motor Corporation, ENEOS Corporation, Chubu Electric Power, The Kansai Electric Power, INPEX Corporation, Cosmo Oil, Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Idemitsu Kosan, Japan Petroleum Exploration (JAPEX), Tokyo Gas, Kashima Oil, Kyushu Electric Power, and Nippon Steel Engineering.
