KPK summons employee and tax consultant of PT Energi Batubara Lestari
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned an employee and a tax consultant from PT Energi Batubara Lestari, part of the Hasnur Group, to be examined as witnesses. “The examination took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building, involving FWW as an employee of PT Energi Batubara Lestari and WP as the tax consultant for PT Energi Batubara Lestari,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday. Budi further explained that the two individuals were summoned as part of the investigation into an alleged corruption case related to the submission of tax restitution applications within the Banjarmasin Madya Tax Office (KPP) in South Kalimantan. Previously, on 4 February 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) within the Banjarmasin KPP environment in South Kalimantan. On the same date, the KPK arrested the Head of KPP Madya Banjarmasin, Mulyono, a civil servant (ASN), and one private individual in the OTT related to the value-added tax (VAT) restitution process in the palm oil plantation sector. On 5 February 2026, the KPK named Mulyono (MLY), tax employee at KPP Madya Banjarmasin Dian Jaya Demega (DJD), and Financial Manager of PT Buana Karya Bhakti Venasius Jenarus Genggor (VNZ) as suspects in the alleged corruption case related to tax restitution submissions. The KPK explained that the case originated from a request for appreciation money to the KPP Madya Banjarmasin for accepting the VAT restitution application from PT Buana Karya Bhakti. According to the KPK, the company submitted a VAT restitution claim for the 2024 tax year with an overpayment status. The KPP Madya Banjarmasin identified an overpayment value of Rp49.47 billion, and with a fiscal correction of Rp1.14 billion, the tax restitution amounted to Rp48.3 billion.
