Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned Rokib (RKB), a member of the Bangkalan Regency DPRD, and Munaji (MNJ), a member of the Pamekasan Regency DPRD, as witnesses in the alleged corruption case concerning the management of grant funds for community groups under the East Java Provincial Government for the 2019-2022 fiscal years.

“The examination will take place at the Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency Representative for East Java, for RKB as a member of the Bangkalan Regency DPRD, and MNJ as a member of the Pamekasan Regency DPRD,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

In addition, Budi stated that the KPK has summoned private individuals with the initials ARN, MHR, and AM as witnesses in the case.

The development of this case is related to a sting operation in December 2022, targeting the Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD for 2019–2024, Sahat Tua Simanjuntak.

On 2 October 2023, the KPK announced the identities of 21 suspects in the case. However, on 16 December 2023, the KPK halted the investigation for one suspect due to their death, namely the Chairman of the East Java DPRD for 2019–2024, Kusnadi (KUS).
