The KPK is continuing the examination of witnesses in the extortion case involving former Chief Prosecutor of Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) Albertinus P Napitupulu. Today, the KPK examined two witnesses from the detention guard and aide sections of the HSU District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari). “The witnesses are in the alleged criminal act of corruption involving extortion within the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office,” explained KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Tuesday (14/4/2026). The two witnesses examined are Anggun Devianty, as the Detention Guard or Assistant Expenditure Treasurer of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, and Henrikus Ion Sidabutar, as Staff of the Civil and State Administrative Affairs Section/Aide to the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office from August 2025 to the present. “The examination was conducted at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building,” Budi stated. It is known that the KPK has named former HSU Chief Prosecutor Albertinus P Napitupulu, former HSU Kejari Intelligence Section Head Asis Budianto, and former HSU Kejari General Affairs Section Head Taruna Fariadi as suspects. They are suspected of extorting several department heads in HSU. “After finding sufficient evidence, the KPK has named three suspects as follows: Mr APN, as Head of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office from August 2025 to the present,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, during a press conference at the KPK building on Saturday (20/12/2025). “Second, ASB as Head of the Intelligence Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office, and Mr TAR as Head of the General Affairs Section of the Hulu Sungai Utara District Prosecutor’s Office,” he added. Albertinus is suspected of receiving Rp 804 million in November-December 2025. Meanwhile, Asis is suspected of receiving Rp 63.2 million from February to December 2025. Albertinus is also suspected of deducting Rp 257 million from the HSU Kejari budget for his personal operational funds. He is also suspected of receiving Rp 450 million from other receipts. Meanwhile, Taruna is suspected of receiving Rp 1.07 billion.
