KPK Summons Aide and Family of Suspended Kuansing Regent

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned the driver, aide, and a family member of suspended Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby as witnesses in an investigation into alleged bribery within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, Riau. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated in Jakarta on Thursday that the witnesses summoned were IJN, the driver; IND, the aide; and GPY, a family member of Suhardiman Amby. “The KPK has scheduled the examination of IJN as the driver, IND as the aide, and GPY as a family member of the regent at the Representative Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency of Riau Province,” he said. In addition to these three witnesses, the KPK also summoned Setiang Village Head Rasid Asmianto, Singingi Hilir Sub-district Head Andhi Syamsul, SOL from PT Adimulia Agrolestari, HRG, an employee of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, and USM, the President Director of PT Maskirana Pertiwi. Also summoned were Head of Governance at the Regional Secretariat Sigit Purnomo, Regional House of Representatives member Dasver Librian, Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency Marel Hendra, Head of General Affairs at the Regional Secretariat Deswan Antoni, and Logas Tanah Darat Sub-district Head Syahferi. The KPK previously conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi Regency and Jakarta on 29 June 2026, securing 10 individuals. This operation was the KPK’s 14th sting operation of 2026. Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby and Regional Secretary Zulkarnain subsequently surrendered to the KPK on 30 June 2026. In addition to the bribery allegations, the KPK suspects Suhardiman of receiving gratuities related to the release of limited production forest areas. Following his implication in the case, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni explained that Suhardiman had left an envelope during a meeting on 2 June 2026. The envelope was later returned via Suhardiman’s aide, and Minister Raja Juli reported the rejection of the gratuity to the KPK on 3 July 2026.
