KPK: Suhardiman Received Two Cars Worth Rp2.75 Billion in Bribes Since 2021

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Suhardiman Amby allegedly received two vehicles with a total value of Rp2.75 billion from a bribery scheme involving the buying and selling of positions from 2021 to the present. Achmad Taufik Husein, Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, explained at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Jakarta on Wednesday that Suhardiman allegedly received a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar worth Rp700 million in 2021 while serving as Acting Regent of Kuantan Singingi. According to Taufik, the vehicle was received by Suhardiman as a bribe for the appointment of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) of Kuantan Singingi in 2021. Meanwhile, during his term as Regent of Kuantan Singingi for the 2025-2030 period, Suhardiman allegedly received a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion in connection with the buying and selling of the Regional Secretary position. In total, Suhardiman’s receipts over this period amounted to two vehicles with a combined value of Rp2.75 billion. ‘These two alleged bribery events for filling positions illustrate that the value of the bribes has gone up a class,’ he said. He further revealed that the two vehicles were obtained by Suhardiman from an individual named Zulkarnain. ‘ZKN previously did the same thing, namely giving a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar for the position of Head of PUPR in Kuansing worth Rp700 million. Then, ZKN again bribed for the position of Regional Secretary with a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.55 billion,’ he explained. Previously, on 30 June 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta, securing 10 individuals. The operation was the 14th sting conducted by the KPK throughout 2026. Of the 10 people detained, five were taken to the KPK’s Merah Putih building for intensive examination. They comprised three private sector parties, a civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and Suhardiman’s wife, Suci Nitia Edwar. The KPK subsequently requested Suhardiman and Zulkarnain to surrender for examination. Both individuals surrendered and were picked up by KPK officers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten. On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles, the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, as suspects in the alleged bribery case involving the buying and selling of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, Riau.
