KPK: Suhardiman Amby Allegedly Received Two Luxury Cars from Position Trading Scheme

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has uncovered an alleged position trading practice within the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency Government, Riau, involving Regent for the 2025–2030 period Suhardiman Amby, with a reward of two luxury cars worth a total of Rp2.75 billion. Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, stated that Suhardiman allegedly received these facilities from Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain in connection with the filling of several strategic positions within the local government. “ZKN allegedly gave a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar worth Rp700 million to the Acting Regent at the time, related to the filling of the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department position in 2021,” Taufik said at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday. According to the KPK, while serving as Acting Regent of Kuansing in 2021, Suhardiman allegedly received the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar valued at Rp700 million related to the appointment for the Head of the PUPR Department. Subsequently, while serving as Regent of Kuansing for the 2025–2030 period, Suhardiman allegedly received another bribe in the form of a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth Rp2.05 billion from Zulkarnain, related to the filling of the Kuansing Regional Secretary position in 2025. Previously, on 30 June 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta, securing 10 individuals. This operation was the 14th sting operation carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. Of the 10 people detained, five were taken to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building for intensive examination. They consisted of three private parties, a civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and Suhardiman’s wife, Suci Nitia Edwar. The KPK then requested that Suhardiman and Zulkarnain surrender for examination. Both were subsequently picked up by investigators at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Banten. On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in the alleged bribery case involving position trading within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government.
