KPK Sting Operation Targets Immigration Official in West Jakarta Over Foreigner Permit Processing
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested an official from the Directorate General of Immigration during a sting operation (OTT) in West Jakarta on Wednesday (3/6/2026). The KPK enforcement team has transported several individuals, including the official, to the Merah Putih Building in South Jakarta this afternoon.
According to gathered information, in addition to the involved parties, the KPK will also bring evidence seized during the operation, such as motor vehicles, to the Dwiwarna Building. Separately, the Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Fitroh Rohcahyanto, stated that the covert operation is related to the processing of permits for foreign nationals (WNA).
“It is certainly related to the processing of foreign nationals,” Fitroh told CNNIndonesia.com via a written message on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
Fitroh was unable to provide detailed information regarding the identities of the parties caught in the sting, as the closed investigation process is still ongoing. The Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, was contacted via written message to confirm the KPK’s law enforcement process; however, no response had been received at the time of publication.
