KPK Sting Operation at Ministry of ATR/BPN Regarding Summarecon Building Rights
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed a sting operation (OTT) within the Ministry of Agraria and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) concerning the processing of Building Rights (HGB) for PT Summarecon Agung Tbk in Bogor Regency.
In addition to the processing of Summarecon’s HGB in Bogor Regency, this sting operation is also linked to other forms of receipts or gratifications received by BPN officials.
“This caught-in-the-act event is allegedly related to the process of managing HGB, building rights, in the Bogor Regency area and also related to the suspicion of other receipts,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Monday (14/9) evening.
“In the Bogor Regency area, the party involved is Summarecon,” Budi added.
During the covert operation, the KPK team apprehended 17 individuals.
Among those arrested were the Head of the Bogor Regency Land Office, Sontang Coin Manurung; the Head of the Tangerang City Land Office, Tardi; and the Director General of Land and Spatial Control and Enforcement at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Lampri.
Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd A Rafiq, and an individual with the initials Gus A were also among those caught in the KPK sting.
Furthermore, the KPK seized cash in both Rupiah and foreign currencies amounting to hundreds of billions of Rupiah. The money was stored in 20 cardboard boxes or suitcases.
“The team also secured evidence including cash in the form of Rupiah and foreign exchange, wrapped and packed in boxes, cardboard, or suitcases, totalling around 20 suitcases. We are currently in the process of counting, and the estimated amount reaches hundreds of billions of Rupiah,” he said.
Based on the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the operation.
“Regarding the detailed construction of this case and the chronology of the sting operation, we will provide an update later as an exposé will be conducted tonight to determine the status,” Budi explained.
