KPK States Tulungagung Regent Received Rp2.7 Billion from Rp5 Billion Target
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) states that Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo (GSW) has received money amounting to at least Rp2.7 billion from the heads of regional apparatus organisations (OPD) within the Tulungagung Regency Government, East Java.
The money was obtained from requests made to 16 OPD heads from December 2025 to early April 2026.
“From the total requests by GSW to the OPDs, which were at least Rp5 billion, the realised money received by GSW is approximately Rp2.7 billion,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Saturday (11 April) evening, as reported by Antara.
According to Asep, there are two schemes used by GSW to request money from the OPD heads. The first is direct requests through aides, with amounts ranging from Rp15 million to Rp2.8 billion.
“Quota requests were also made by GSW by adding or shifting budgets in several OPDs. So, he would go to an OPD and say, ‘I’ll add a budget to this OPD, say Rp10, then he asks for a certain percentage from that Rp10’,” Asep explained.
The second scheme is based on 50% of the budget value for the OPDs.
“For example, if Rp100 million is added, he asks for Rp50 million, even before that budget is disbursed or given to the OPD,” he stated.
GSW was caught in the KPK’s hand arrest operation (OTT) in Tulungagung, East Java, on 10 April 2026. In addition to GSW, 17 other individuals were arrested, including GSW’s younger brother, Jatmiko Dwijo Saputro, who serves as a member of the Tulungagung DPRD.
GSW and his aide, Dwi Yoga Ambal (YOG), have been named as suspects in the case of extortion and other unlawful receipts within the Tulungagung Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
