KPK States Second Edison Case Originated from BPK Sumsel Audit
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that the alleged bribery case ensnaring non-active Muara Enim Regent Edison for the second time originated from an examination conducted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) Representative Office of South Sumatra Province. “So, in early 2026, the BPK South Sumatra Representative Office conducted an examination of the Muara Enim Regency Government’s financial report for the 2025 fiscal year,” said Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday. According to Taufik, the BPK South Sumatra subsequently found audit results that exceeded the materiality threshold in the examination report on the Muara Enim Regency Government’s finances. “Then in May 2026, EDS, as Regent, ordered RSH, who was the Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development in 2026 and previously the Head of the Education and Culture Office, to handle the BPK examination report containing the findings,” he said. Rusdi then specifically requested Abi Nurwardani, the Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, to meet Angga through an intermediary, a private party with the initials MYN. “At that meeting, ABN and AGG negotiated the fee required to alter the BPK audit findings from the 2025 financial report examination,” he stated. In the meeting, Taufik said, Angga communicated that approximately Rp1.6 billion was needed to change the BPK findings. “After an agreement was reached, AGG then prepared a squad. This is a term we found from the examination results and evidence,” he said. Subsequently, Angga coordinated with BPK South Sumatra civil servant Titin Rita Lestari to alter the BPK audit results. On the other side, Taufik noted, Abi collected and distributed the money to Angga and MYN. In the KPK’s 12th sting operation of 2026, Muara Enim Regent Edison was among those arrested. On 9 June 2026, the KPK named four suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other receipts within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The four suspects are Edison, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office Abi Nurwardani, marketing employee of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Cory Erin Hardi, and Adi Triyadi, who is Edison’s nephew. The KPK then conducted a follow-up sting operation on 10 June 2026, arresting five civil servants from the BPK RI. That operation became the 13th sting operation carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. On 11 June 2026, the KPK announced the naming of five individuals as suspects. They are Edison, Cory Erin Hardi, PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Director Fika, private party Augusz Dewanggara, and BPK RI civil servant Titin Rita Lestari, who had served as Head of the Examination Team at the BPK South Sumatra Representative Office.
