KPK States Name of Cigarette Entrepreneur Haji Her Appears in Documents from Customs Official Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) states that the name of cigarette entrepreneur Khairul Umam, alias Haji Her, appears in documents found by investigators during a raid on the office of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC). Acting Director of Investigations at KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, said that this inclusion is the reason for summoning Haji Her as a witness in the alleged corruption case within the DJBC. “Haji Her, to reiterate, the results of the raid we found in the investigation process at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise office include several documents prepared by Ocoy (Head of Intelligence at DJBC, Orlando Hamonangan), the suspect,” said Taufik at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026). “Then we analysed them. That’s where we found several names of cigarette entrepreneurs, including Suryo and Haji Her,” he continued. “This includes other parties from cigarette entrepreneurs outside the suspects that we are currently examining,” he stated. Taufik said that KPK upholds the presumption of innocence principle towards witnesses from the cigarette entrepreneur community. Nevertheless, he assured that every witness summons by investigators has a clear reason. “So, we want to confirm the findings from the raid documents at the Customs office,” he said. Previously, KPK examined cigarette entrepreneur Khairul Umam, alias Haji Her, in the investigation of the alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance. “He arrived at 12:58 WIB,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday. “There are many cigarette entrepreneurs being summoned and questioned now,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK Building, Jakarta.
