The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has scheduled questioning of former Religion Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas for Thursday, 12 March 2026. However, the KPK has not indicated it will proceed directly to arrest Yaqut following the examination.

The KPK stated that any decision to detain a suspect must be based on meeting sufficient legal requirements. However, the KPK did not elaborate on the specific conditions required.

“When will the detention take place? There are certainly many conditions that must be met. These can be checked by colleagues in the Criminal Code for conducting an arrest,” said KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

The KPK stated that today’s summons of Yaqut is part of fulfilling these requirements. “Of course, we must meet those conditions, and this is in connection with that — we are summoning the person in question and others,” Asep said.
