KPK States Hundreds of Millions in Seized Cash Found in Ono Surono's Private Room
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has disclosed that the hundreds of millions of rupiah in cash seized by investigators during the search of Deputy Regional Council Chairman Ono Surono’s home was found in his private room.
“We found it in Mr ONS’s (Ono Surono) private room,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Regarding Setyowati’s request for the return of the seized items, Budi stated that the evidence is required for the proof process in the investigation of the case.
“Of course, all of that falls under the investigators’ authority, and anything seized as evidence is certainly to support the investigation process of the case,” he said.
The search is related to the alleged bribery case for a project in Bekasi Regency that ensnares Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang.
“In this search, investigators secured and seized several documents, electronic evidence, and cash amounting to hundreds of millions of rupiah found in ONS’s (Ono Surono) room,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Thursday (2/4/2026).
Budi said the search activity was witnessed by his wife, family members, and local officials.
“We emphasise that it was carried out in accordance with procedures. The investigators have shown their investigation administration,” he said.
