KPK states 12 people to be questioned in Jakarta following Tulungagung Regent
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that 12 people arrested in a hand-catching operation (OTT) in Tulungagung Regency, East Java, will follow Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo for examination at the Red and White Building, KPK, Jakarta.
“From a total of 18 people examined and secured on Friday (10/4), 13 of them were subsequently brought to Jakarta today in stages,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
He said that besides Gatut Sunu, 11 other people brought to Jakarta were from the Tulungagung Regency Government environment, while one more was from another party.
“Subsequently, these parties will undergo further examination at the KPK’s Red and White Building,” he said.
Budi added that besides securing the parties, the team also secured evidence, one of which was in the form of cash.
The KPK has a time limit of 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of the parties arrested in the OTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
On Friday (10/4), the KPK arrested 16 people in the OTT in Tulungagung, East Java, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, marking the tenth OTT in 2026.
The second OTT, on 19 January 2026, the KPK confirmed the arrest of Madiun Mayor Maidi. The anti-corruption agency on 20 January 2026 announced Maidi as one of the suspects in alleged corruption in the form of extortion through project rewards and CSR funds as well as other receipts or gratuities in the Madiun City Government environment, East Java.
On 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted the third OTT and arrested Pati Regent Sudewo. On 20 January 2026, the KPK announced Sudewo as one of the suspects in alleged extortion in the filling of village apparatus positions in the Pati Regency Government environment, Central Java.
The fourth OTT, on 4 February 2026, in the environment of the Banjarmasin Medium Tax Office, South Kalimantan. The arrest was related to the tax restitution process in that tax office environment.
On 4 February 2026, the KPK announced the fifth OTT related to the importation of counterfeit or imitation goods. One of those arrested was former Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, Rizal, who is currently serving as Head of the West Sumatra Customs Region Office.
The sixth OTT was revealed on 5 February 2026, related to alleged corruption in handling a land dispute of 6,500 square metres in the Depok District Court environment, West Java. The KPK designated Depok District Court Chief I Wayan Eka Mariarta, Deputy Chief Bambang Setyawan, to the President Director of PT Karabha Digdaya, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance, as suspects.
The seventh OTT was announced on 3 March 2026, during the Ramadan month. The KPK designated Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in the alleged corruption case related to the procurement of outsourcing services or contract labour, and other procurements in the Pekalongan Regency Government environment for the 2023-2026 fiscal year.
