Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Budi Prasetyo, is not bothered by the action taken by the Director of PT Sinkos Multimedia Mandiri, Faizal Assegaf, who reported him to the KPK Oversight Council (Dewas) over allegations of breaching the code of ethics. Budi is confident that Dewas will act objectively in reviewing the reported matter. “We leave it entirely to the KPK Oversight Council, as we are certain that Dewas will objectively examine and scrutinise the public complaint,” Budi said at his office in Jakarta on Wednesday night (15/4). Budi added that investigators are currently focused on resolving the handling of the alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, which has implicated Faizal as a witness. “This of course relates to the examination regarding excise management,” Budi stated. Earlier today, Faizal, accompanied by lawyers from Djamaludin Koedoeboen & Partners, reported Budi to Dewas KPK over the alleged ethical breach. “Based on the authority of the KPK Oversight Council of the Republic of Indonesia under Article 37B of Law No. 19 of 2019, we hereby submit: an official notification of the complaint to the chairman and members of the KPK Oversight Council of the Republic of Indonesia,” quoted from the report letter that has been initialled by KPK officials, in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4). Faizal requested that Dewas KPK summon Budi Prasetyo for an ethical review over the alleged code of ethics violation. Previously, Faizal had also reported Budi to the Metro Jaya Police over alleged defamation. The report was registered under number: LP/B/2592/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA. During his examination as a witness on 7 April, KPK delved into allegations that Faizal received goods from one of the suspects in the alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Faizal is said to have admitted to receiving them during questioning by investigators. The examination of Faizal is to complete the case file for seven suspects already detained in connection with the alleged bribery in goods importation and gratifications case. They are the former Director of Investigation and Enforcement at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise from 2024 to January 2026, Rizal; the Head of the Subdirectorate of Enforcement Intelligence and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasubdit Intel P2 DJBC), Sisprian Subiaksono; the Head of the Intelligence Section at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Kasi Intel DJBC), Orlando; the Head of the Import Document Team at PT Blueray, Andri; a Customs and Excise Directorate employee, Budiman Bayu Prasojo; the owner of PT Blueray, John Field; and the Operations Manager of PT Blueray, Dedy Kurniawan.
