KPK: Silmy Karim Implicated in Case During His Tenure as Director General of Immigration
“This includes the period when Silmy served as Director General of Immigration, as the alleged flow of commands or the flow of money is believed to have occurred during his tenure,” explained KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in South Jakarta, Thursday (June 4, 2026).
Budi also explained that the case involving Silmy is related to the processing of immigration documents, which allegedly led to acts of extortion and gratification.
“In this case, the charges are based on Article 12E related to the alleged corruption crime of extortion in the processing of immigration documents, as well as Article 12B or the acceptance of other benefits or gratification,” said Budi.
In this case, a total of eight people have been detained. One of them is the Deputy Minister of Immigration, Silmy Karim.
The eight individuals who have been detained in this case are as follows:
Deputy Minister of Immigration 2025-2026 and Director General of Immigration 2023-2024, Silmy Karim (SK)
Acting Director General of Immigration 2024-2025, Saffar Muhammad Godam (SMG)
Director of Residence Permits and Immigration Status, Directorate General of Immigration, Jaya Saputra (JS)
Head of the Division for Changing Residence Permits at the Directorate of Residence Permits and Immigration Status, Directorate General of Immigration, Tessar Bayu Setyaji (TBS)
Head of Division at the Directorate of Residence Permits, Bagus Bramantyo (BGS)
Head of the Jakarta Pusat Immigration Office 2024-2025 and Head of the Class I Special Non-TPI Jakarta Barat Immigration Office 2025-2026, Ronald Arman Abdullah (RAA)
Head of the ITAS Change of Status Team, Juniadi Sri Priambudi (JSP)
Staff of the Division of Residence Permits, Gusti Benardiansyah (GST)
Budi explained that the eight individuals have been officially named as suspects. The designation as suspects is supported by sufficient evidence obtained by investigators.
“Based on sufficient evidence, the KPK has also named eight people as suspects out of a total of 18 people who were arrested in the sting operation,” said Budi.
Budi said that the eight suspects were immediately detained. The detention will be for the first 20 days at the KPK’s Merah Putih building detention center.
