The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again conducted searches at several locations in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra, related to the bribery case involving inactive Muara Enim Regent Edison. The KPK deployed two teams under the escort of Muara Enim Police’s Sabhara unit. Searches were carried out at Edison’s office, the Education and Culture Office, the regent’s official residence, and the home of the Education and Culture Office secretary. The anti-corruption agency had previously sealed the regent’s office and the Education and Culture Office. One team searched the Regent’s office and emerged with three cardboard boxes and a suitcase suspected to contain documents. The second team searched the office of Education and Culture Secretary Abi Nurwadani. At the official residence, the KPK was observed carrying two medium-sized brown boxes and two black suitcases into an Innova vehicle, before proceeding to search the secretary’s home. Muara Enim Police spokesperson AKP RTM Situmorang confirmed that police personnel provided security at several locations during the KPK’s search operations.
