SEMARANG — Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) searched the Semarang Customs Office and the Central Java Regional Customs Office, located on Yos Sudarso Arterial Road in Semarang, Central Java, on Friday (30 October 2026). The searches were linked to suspected state losses in the excise sector.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo confirmed the searches, saying they were a continuation of the investigators’ activities.

“During the searches, investigators secured a number of documents and several electronic pieces of evidence believed to be connected with the alleged corruption case involving state financial losses in the excise sector. Investigators also seized some cash,” Budi said in a written statement.

Budi did not disclose how much cash was seized from the Semarang Customs Office and the Central Java Regional Customs Office. “The amount is still being counted,” he said.

He said the KPK would carry out further examination and analysis of all the evidence seized during the searches. Budi said this was intended to strengthen the evidence investigators need to uncover the case.
