KPK Seizes SGD12,000 from Kuansing DPRD Speaker

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized foreign currency and rupiah from the Speaker of the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) DPRD, Juprizal (JUP), and Fahdiansyah (FHD), the Assistant I of Kuansing Regency. The seizure was carried out after the anti-corruption agency examined both individuals as witnesses in a bribery case related to job appointments in Kuansing Regency on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. “We seized money from witness JUP amounting to SGD12,000 and from witness FHD amounting to Rp15,000,000,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Thursday, 9 July 2026. Budi stated that the witness examinations were also connected to the bribery surrounding the auction for the Regional Secretary position involving Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby. “Investigators are also looking into the application process for the conversion of protected forest in Kuantan Singingi Regency submitted to the Ministry of Forestry,” he revealed. Previously, the KPK examined nine witnesses, including Juprizal as the Speaker of the Kuansing Regency DPRD, Fahdiansyah as Assistant I of Kuansing Regency, and Andri Yama Putra as Head of the Plantation Service. Others included Ade Fahrer as Head of the Housing, Settlement and Land Service, Sigit Purnomo as Head of the Governance Section of Kuansing Regency, and Dasver Librian as a DPRD member. Also examined were Marel Henda as Head of General Affairs of the Regional Secretariat, Deswan Antoni as Head of General Affairs of the Regional Secretariat, and Syahferry as Head of Logas Tanah Darat District. The examination of these witnesses followed an earlier search by investigators at the Kuansing DPRD office. The search was conducted due to allegations of a collection process through intermediaries in the case ensnaring Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby. “There is an allegation of a collection process carried out by the Regent through intermediaries,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
