KPK Seizes SGD12,000 from Kuansing DPRD Speaker
Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized foreign currency and rupiah from Juprizal (JUP), Speaker of the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regional Council, and Fahdiansyah (FHD), Assistant I of Kuansing Regency.
The seizure was carried out after the anti-corruption body questioned the two men as witnesses in a bribery case concerning official appointments in Kuansing Regency on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.
“We seized money from the witness, brother JUP, worth SGD12,000, and from the witness, brother FHD, amounting to Rp15,000,000,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Thursday, 9 July 2026.
Budi said the questioning of witnesses was also connected to the alleged auction of the Regional Secretary position involving the Regent of Kuansing, Suhardiman Amby.
“Investigators are also looking into a request to reclassify protected forest land in Kuantan Singingi Regency that was submitted to the Ministry of Forestry,” he revealed.
Earlier, the KPK examined nine witnesses, including Juprizal as Speaker of the Kuansing Regional Council, Fahdiansyah as Assistant I of Kuansing Regency, and Andri Yama Putra, Head of the Plantation Office.
The others were Ade Fahrer as Head of the Housing, Settlement Areas and Land Office, Sigit Purnomo as Head of the Governance Division of Kuansing Regency, and Dasver Librian as a member of the Regional Council.
Also questioned were Marel Henda, Head of the General Affairs Division of the Regional Secretariat, Deswan Antoni, also Head of the General Affairs Division of the Regional Secretariat, and Syahferry as Head of Logas Tanah Darat District.
The questioning of these witnesses followed a search of the Kuansing Regional Council offices by investigators.
The search was carried out on suspicion that a collection process was conducted through intermediaries in the case that has ensnared the Regent of Kuansing, Suhardiman Amby.
“There is an allegation that the Regent carried out a collection process through intermediaries,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
