Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized cash amounting to Rp95 million along with documents from searches at four locations on 17 April 2026, related to the investigation of the alleged extortion case implicating former Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo.

“Investigators secured cash amounting to Rp95 million during the search at the Tulungagung Regional Secretariat (Setda) office,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Meanwhile, Budi explained that the seizure of several documents was carried out by the KPK from the Tulungagung Regional Secretariat office, the Tulungagung Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, the Tulungagung Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency office, as well as the private residence and family of Gatut Sunu located in Surabaya, East Java.

The documents in question are said to be related to procurement and budgeting within the Tulungagung Regency Government.

“Investigators will subsequently extract and analyse every piece of evidence secured in this series of search activities,” he said.

Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Tulungagung, East Java, on Friday (10/4).

The KPK arrested 18 people in that OTT, including Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his younger brother, who is also a member of the Tulungagung Regency DPRD, Jatmiko Dwijo Saputro.

A day later, on 11 April 2026, the KPK brought Gatut Sunu Wibowo and his brother, along with 11 others, to Jakarta for intensive examination.

On the same date, the KPK announced Gatut Sunu Wibowo (GSW) and Dwi Yoga Ambal (YOG), his aide, as suspects in the alleged extortion and other receipts case within the Tulungagung Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

The KPK suspects Gatut Sunu of extorting regional apparatus officials in the Tulungagung Regency Government using the method of resignation statements from positions and civil servant status.

Those letters had already been signed and stamped with official seals but had not yet been dated.

Through this method, the KPK suspects Gatut Sunu obtained money up to Rp2.7 billion from a target of Rp5 billion from 16 heads of regional apparatus organisations (OPD) within the Tulungagung Regency Government.
