KPK Seizes Rp2.7 Billion in Evidence Related to Pemalang Regent Sting Operation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized evidence worth Rp2.7 billion in connection with a sting operation (OTT) that ensnared Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.
“In this arrest, the team secured a number of items of evidence with a total value of approximately Rp2.7 billion,” said Acting Director of KPK Investigations Achmad Taufik Husein at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Jakarta on Thursday.
Taufik explained that the evidence consisted of Rp300 million in cash found at the home of Mohamad Haris, alias Gus Haris, a trusted confidant of Anom Widiyantoro; Rp80 million in cash from the former campaign headquarters of the winning side in the 2024 Pemalang regional election; and Rp1.2 billion in cash from the home of Lilik Budi Suprianto, the father of a police officer currently serving at the KPK.
Additionally, investigators seized a bank account registered under Gus Haris, suspected of being a receiving account, along with Rp670 million withdrawn from that account, and a briefcase found in Anom Widiyantoro’s car containing Rp451 million in cash.
Previously, on 28 July 2026, the KPK carried out its 18th sting operation of 2026.
In that operation, the KPK arrested five people in Jakarta, 15 in Pemalang, and one in Purworejo. Among the 21 people arrested was Anom Widiyantoro.
The KPK then took 14 of the 21 individuals to Jakarta for further questioning. They comprised five people arrested in Jakarta, eight from Pemalang, and one from Purworejo.
On 30 July 2026, Anom Widiyantoro and three others appeared publicly wearing the KPK’s orange vests, confirming that they had been named suspects.
The KPK subsequently stated that the case consists of two clusters. The first involves alleged extortion by Anom Widiyantoro against officials of the Pemalang district government and private parties. The second involves alleged extortion against Anom Widiyantoro, carried out in part by a police officer serving at the KPK.
In the first cluster, the suspects are Anom Widiyantoro and Gus Haris. In the second cluster, the suspects are Setya Budi Dias, the police officer serving at the KPK, and his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto.
