KPK Seizes Rp2.05 Billion Land Cruiser in Pematangsiantar Linked to Kuansing Case
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradancy Commission (KPK) has discovered one unit of a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S, valued at Rp2.05 billion, in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra, in connection with an alleged bribery case involving the sale of official positions within the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency Government, Riau.
“The evidence of the bribe from suspect ZKN to suspect SA was allegedly hidden in one of the vehicle storage warehouses in Pematangsiantar,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Budi explained that the KPK discovered the suspected bribe evidence on 4 July 2026. On that same day, investigators transported the vehicle to Jakarta using a towing service. However, Budi noted that as of Tuesday (7/7) afternoon, the luxury vehicle was still in transit to Jakarta.
Budi stated that the KPK will trace every asset related to the alleged bribery case involving the sale of positions in the Kuansing Regency Government. “The KPK will continue to investigate every piece of information, asset, and party suspected of being involved in this case, as a manifestation of our commitment to professional and transparent law enforcement based on statutory provisions,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Kuansing, Suhardiman Amby, and the Regional Secretary of Kuansing, Zulkarnain, surrendered themselves on 30 June 2026. On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in the alleged bribery regarding the sale of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government.
In addition to the bribery allegations, the KPK suspects Suhardiman received gratifications related to the processing of the release of limited production forest areas. Following the involvement of his name in the case, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni explained on 3 July 2026 that during an audience with Suhardiman on 2 June 2026, the regional leader left behind an envelope inside a folder.
According to Raja Juli, he only realised the existence of the envelope after Suhardiman had left the room. He subsequently instructed his aide to return the envelope without knowing its contents. Raja Juli stated that the return of the envelope was carried out on 12 June 2026, after being delayed due to scheduling constraints. The envelope was returned to Suhardiman via his aide in Kuantan Singingi Regency.
