KPK Seizes Rp 2 Billion in Sting Operation Against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro

The KPK has carried out a sting operation (operasi tangkap tangan, OTT) against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro. The commission secured evidence in the form of Rp 2 billion in cash during the operation.

“The team also secured evidence including cash amounting to more than Rp 2 billion. And of course, other pieces of evidence were also secured in the course of this sting operation,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (29/7/2026).

Budi said several rooms at the Pemalang Regency Government office had been sealed by the KPK. In total, 21 people were secured in this operation.

Some of those caught in the sting operation are already in Jakarta. Others are still being questioned in Pemalang.

“In this sting operation, yes, the team has also sealed several locations in Pemalang,” he said.

Earlier, the sting operation against Anom was confirmed by Deputy Chair of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto. The KPK has not yet explained the case that led to Anom being taken into custody.

“Correct,” said Deputy Chair of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto to journalists on Wednesday (29/7).

Those secured still hold the status of examinees. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught in the sting operation.
