KPK Seizes Mobile Phone Containing Chat Records of Fund Collection from SKPD Heads in Cilacap Regent Extortion Case
JAKARTA — The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized a mobile phone containing conversations related to the collection of funds from heads of Regional Administrative Units (SKPD) during raids in the Cilacap Regency Government area on Monday, 16 March 2026.
KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo stated that the mobile phone was discovered whilst investigators conducted searches at several locations, including the official residence and office of the Cilacap Regent, the Regional Secretary’s Office (Sekda), as well as the offices of Assistants 1, 2, and 3.
“Among them was a mobile phone containing chat records related to the collection of funds from heads of Regional Administrative Units (SKPD) to their respective departmental heads,” said Budi.
In addition to the mobile phone, investigators also secured a number of documents alleged to be related to the case.
The raids were conducted as part of the investigation into an alleged extortion case involving Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.
The KPK had previously designated Syamsul as a suspect in the alleged extortion case related to the collection of Idul Fitri 2026 holiday bonus (THR) funds.
Besides Syamsul, the KPK also designated Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardono as a suspect.
Both were arrested during a sting operation (OTT) on Friday, 13 March 2026.
In this case, Syamsul is suspected of instructing his subordinates to extract funds from a number of SKPD units with a collection target of Rp 750 million.
By the time the sting operation was conducted, the collected funds had reached Rp 610 million.
The money was seized from the residence of Ferry Adhi Dharma, the Assistant II of Cilacap Regency, who is suspected of being the person ordered to collect funds from the SKPD units.
