KPK Seizes Luxury Assets of Former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono, Here is the List
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized five luxury assets and a number of financial flows related to an alleged gratuity case implicating the former Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Ma’ruf Cahyono. The seizure was carried out to optimise the recovery of state financial losses from the ongoing case. Acting KPK Director of Investigation, Achmad Taufik Husein, detailed that the seized assets include a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Jeep Rubicon, and a guitar worth Rp10 million. In addition, investigators seized a Brompton bicycle valued at Rp30 million and electronic evidence in the form of a Samsung Z Fold mobile phone worth Rp20 million. ‘A number of these pieces of evidence are suspected to be proceeds from procurement partners within the MPR Secretariat General,’ Taufik stated at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday. Beyond physical assets, the KPK also seized evidence of a home renovation costing Rp1.9 billion. Investigators are further examining the flow of funds used to finance the wedding reception of Ma’ruf Cahyono’s child, which was held in November 2020. The case originated from the announcement of an investigation on 20 June 2025 into alleged gratuities in the procurement of goods and services within the MPR Secretariat General. Following a series of witness examinations, the KPK named Ma’ruf Cahyono as a suspect on 3 July 2025. He was formally detained on 9 July 2026 at the KPK Detention Centre branch at the Merah Putih Building. The anti-corruption agency confirmed it is continuing to trace other assets connected to the case.
