KPK Seizes Five Suitcases of Documents from West Lombok Regent's Office

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized five suitcases of documents during a search at the West Lombok Regent’s Office in Nusa Tenggara Barat on Thursday. Based on observations at the Regent’s Office, the anti-corruption agency’s investigative team was seen carrying five suitcases into a minibus at 14:44 WITA. After removing the documents from the Regent’s Office, eight minibuses carrying the KPK team moved to two other locations. A portion of the team in five minibuses continued the search at the West Lombok Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, and Settlement Areas Agency (PUPRPKP) office, which is still within the government office complex. Meanwhile, the remaining investigators in three minibuses proceeded to the West Lombok Regent’s official residence, located directly opposite the Regent’s Office. When asked about the search activities, the KPK team declined to provide any comment. The West Lombok Regency Government also did not issue a statement. As of now, the KPK team is still conducting searches at the two locations. On Monday (20/7), the KPK conducted a sting operation, apprehending 19 individuals, seven of whom were taken to Jakarta. Among those seven were West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini, Director of PT Air Minum Giri Menang (AMGM) Sudirman, and Head of the West Lombok PUPRPKP Agency Lalu Ratnawi. In addition to the seven individuals from West Lombok Regency, the KPK also detained Alvonsus Gani, Director of PT Meconel Sistem Instrumen (MSI), in Jakarta. On Tuesday (21/7), the KPK officially named three of them as suspects: Lalu Ahmad Zaini, Sudirman, and Alvonsus Gani, for alleged conflict of interest, bribery, and gratuity.
