KPK Seizes Five Assets in Ma'ruf Cahyono Gratification Case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized five assets linked to an alleged gratification case within the Secretariat General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) implicating former MPR RI Secretary General Ma’ruf Cahyono.

Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, revealed that the seized assets include one Harley-Davidson motorcycle, one Rubicon vehicle, a guitar valued at Rp10 million, a Brompton bicycle valued at Rp30 million, and electronic evidence in the form of a Samsung Z Fold valued at Rp20 million.

“A number of these items of evidence are suspected to be proceeds of acceptance from procurement partners for goods and services within the MPR RI Secretariat General,” said Taufik at the KPK’s Red-and-White Building in Jakarta on Thursday.

In addition, he said the KPK seized evidence related to home renovation financing amounting to Rp1.9 billion, as well as funding for the wedding reception of Ma’ruf Cahyono’s child held in November 2020.

“The KPK is continuing to trace assets and evidence connected to this case in order to optimise the recovery of state financial losses,” said Taufik.

Previously, on 20 June 2025, the KPK announced the start of an investigation into an alleged gratification case related to the procurement of goods and services within the MPR RI Secretariat General.

On 23 June 2025, the KPK began summoning witnesses and announced that a state official had been named a suspect.

Subsequently, on 3 July 2025, the KPK revealed that the suspect in the case was Ma’ruf Cahyono.

On 9 July 2026, the KPK detained Ma’ruf Cahyono at the KPK Red-and-White Building branch of the State Detention House.

The KPK suspects that Ma’ruf Cahyono received approximately Rp37.8 billion in gratification while serving as Secretary General of the MPR RI.
