KPK Seizes Five Assets from Former MPR Secretary-General, Including Harley Davidson and Rubicon

Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized five assets related to a suspected gratification case within the Secretariat General of the MPR RI, which has ensnared former Secretary-General of the MPR RI, Ma’ruf Cahyono.

Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, revealed that the seized assets include a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a Rubicon car, a guitar valued at Rp10 million, a Brompton bicycle valued at Rp30 million, and electronic evidence in the form of a Samsung Z Fold valued at Rp20 million.

“A number of these items of evidence are suspected to be the proceeds of receipts from procurement contractors for goods and services within the Secretariat General of the MPR RI,” said Taufik at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday, 9 July 2026.

In addition, he said the KPK seized evidence related to home renovation financing amounting to some Rp1.9 billion, as well as financing for the wedding reception of Ma’ruf Cahyono’s child, held in November 2020.

“The KPK continues to trace assets and evidence connected to this case in order to optimise the recovery of state financial losses,” said Taufik.

Previously, on 20 June 2025, the KPK announced the start of an investigation into a suspected gratification case related to the procurement of goods and services within the Secretariat General of the MPR RI.

On 23 June 2025, the KPK began summoning witnesses and announced that a state official had been named a suspect.

Subsequently, on 3 July 2025, the KPK revealed that the suspect in the case was Ma’ruf Cahyono.

On 9 July 2026, the KPK detained Ma’ruf Cahyono at the State Detention Centre at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building.

The KPK suspects that during his tenure as Secretary-General of the MPR RI, Ma’ruf Cahyono received gratification amounting to approximately Rp37.8 billion. (Ant)
