KPK Seizes Evidence and Vehicle in Kuansing Sting Operation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Riau. A number of items of evidence were seized by the KPK during the operation. “The team also secured several pieces of evidence in this sting operation, namely electronic evidence in the form of financial transaction records,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026). The KPK team also seized a car during the sting operation in Kuansing. The vehicle is suspected to be linked to a bribery case within the Kuansing Regency Government. “In addition, the team also secured one four-wheeled vehicle suspected of being an instrument of bribery carried out by the parties involved,” Budi stated. A total of 10 people were arrested in the sting operation in Kuansing. Five individuals, comprising private sector parties, civil servants from the Kuansing Regency Government, and a relative of one of the civil servants, were taken to the KPK building for further examination. “This case is suspected to be related to alleged bribery in the buying and selling of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency,” Budi explained. Budi added that the whereabouts of Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby and Regional Secretary Zulkarnaen are currently unknown in connection with the sting operation. Both have been urged to surrender immediately. “We have not yet found detailed information on their location, so we urge them to be cooperative and surrender,” Budi concluded.
