KPK Seizes Documents Related to Unsoed Student Admissions; Houses of Three Vice-Rectors Searched

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has discovered documents and electronic evidence suspected to be related to the practice of ‘depositing’ or securing spots for new students at Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed).

These findings were obtained after investigators conducted searches across six locations in various regions on 9-11 September 2026.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that documents concerning the placement of prospective students were among the pieces of evidence secured during the series of raids. “Investigators found several documents and electronic evidence, including those related to the placement of prospective students at Unsoed,” he said on Friday, 11 September 2026.

The searches were carried out at several locations linked to parties within the Unsoed environment. These included the residences of the Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Noor Farid; the Acting Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. Kuat Puji Prayitno; and the Acting Vice-Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations, Prof. Waluyo Handoko.

Investigators also visited the home of a lecturer, the office of the Regional Secretary of Banyumas Regency, Agus Nur Hadie, and the residence of a high school teacher in Tasikmalaya, West Java.

These raids are part of the investigation into alleged corruption in the Unsoed new student admission process. The case emerged after the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against several individuals from the Unsoed Rectorate on 20 August 2026.

A day after the sting operation, the KPK named six individuals as suspects. They are the Rector of Unsoed, Prof. Akhmad Sodiq; the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Norman Arie Prayogo; the Head of Academic Affairs at Unsoed, Eko Sumanto; Mulyono, who is Sodiq’s nephew; as well as Dian Mulia Wardhana and Adhi Wiharto, who are alleged to have acted as intermediaries.

In this case, the KPK suspects that Norman, through Dian and Adhi, engaged in extortion against the parents of prospective students. The amount is estimated to have reached Rp650 million, using a modus operandi of promising admission to the Faculty of Medicine, although the students in question ultimately failed to be admitted.

The KPK also suspects that Unsoed Rector Akhmad Sodiq instructed his nephew, Mulyono, to accept payments from the parents of prospective students.
