The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a number of documents and electronic evidence after conducting searches at several locations in Kuantan Singingi Regency and Pekanbaru, Riau, between 4–6 July 2026.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday that the searches were carried out to complete the evidence required for the investigation into alleged bribery related to the sale of official positions and gratifications within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government.

“During this series of searches, the team found documents and electronic evidence that strengthen the proof within the construction of the case in question,” said Budi.

He explained that the locations searched in Kuantan Singingi included the Regent’s Office, the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) building, the Office of the Plantation and Livestock Service, and the residence of the Head of the Plantation and Livestock Service.

Additionally, investigators also searched the private and official residences of the suspects, namely the Regent of Kuantan Singingi, Suhardiman Amby, the Regional Secretary of Kuantan Singingi, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles.

“The KPK expresses its appreciation to the parties who were cooperative during the search process,” he said.

He also reminded all parties not to hide, move, or destroy evidence, as doing so could obstruct the law enforcement process.

“This search aims to complete the additional evidence required by investigators in the legal process regarding this case,” he added.

Suhardiman Amby and Zulkarnain subsequently surrendered themselves to the KPK on 30 June 2026.

On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as suspects in connection with alleged bribery related to the sale of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. This operation marks the 14th sting operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK throughout 2026.

In addition to the alleged bribery, the KPK also suspects Suhardiman of receiving gratifications related to the processing of the release of limited production forest areas.

According to Raja Juli, he only realised the existence of the envelope after Suhardiman had left the room. He then instructed his aide to return the envelope without knowing its contents.

Raja Juli stated that the return of the envelope took place on 12 June 2026, after being delayed due to scheduling constraints. The envelope was returned to Suhardiman via his aide in Kuantan Singingi Regency.
