KPK seizes documents after searching home of Pati public works official in Sudewo case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized documents and electronic evidence during a search of the residence of Riyoso, Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (Kadis PUTR) of Pati Regency, concerning alleged extortion involving non-active Pati Regent Sudewo.

“During the search, investigators secured documents and electronic evidence to support the investigation process in this case,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said in Jakarta on Friday, 27 February.

Budi explained that the search of Riyoso’s residence was conducted on 27 February 2026, relating to his role as former Acting Regional Secretary of Pati Regency.

Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK carried out a hand-catch operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency, Central Java. The following day, 20 January 2026, the KPK brought Sudewo along with seven others to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta for the investigation process.

On the same date, the KPK designated four suspects in the alleged extortion case related to the filling of village official positions in Pati Regency. They are Sudewo (SDW); Head of Karangrowo Village Abdul Suyono (YON); Head of Arumanis Village Sumarjiono (JION); and Head of Sukorukun Village Karjan (JAN).

Additionally, Sudewo was also designated as a suspect in alleged bribery related to railway development and maintenance projects under the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
