KPK Seizes Documents After Searching 15 Locations in Pemalang Regent Extortion Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a number of documents after searching 15 locations in four regions from 5 to 8 August 2026 in connection with an alleged extortion case involving suspended Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.
“From the searches, investigators seized several documents, including documents related to projects that are being and will be carried out at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) of Pemalang Regency,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Sunday, 9 August 2026.
Budi said the KPK also seized evidence in the form of mobile phones and electronic documents from the searches at 15 locations related to the case, namely ten houses in Pemalang, two houses in Tegal, two houses in Pekalongan, and one house in Semarang.
According to him, the houses belong to parties suspected of being connected to the case.
“In addition, the investigation team also seized CCTV recordings at a hotel located in Magelang,” he said.
Furthermore, he said, the evidence from the searches at 15 locations and the CCTV recordings at one hotel in Magelang will be analysed by KPK investigators.
“Analysed by investigators to strengthen the additional evidence needed in the investigation of this case, both to strengthen the construction of the case and to deepen the role of each party,” he explained.
Previously, on 28 July 2026, the KPK conducted its 18th sting operation of 2026. One of the 21 people arrested in the operation was Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro.
On 30 July 2026, the KPK announced the results of the sting operation and stated that there were two clusters of cases.
First, the alleged extortion by Anom Widiyantoro against the Pemalang Regency Government apparatus and private parties. In this cluster, the suspects are Anom Widiyantoro and his confidant, Mohamad Haris alias Gus Haris.
Second, the alleged extortion by a police officer and his father against Anom Widiyantoro. The suspects in this cluster are Setya Budi Dias, a police officer serving at the KPK, along with his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto.
