KPK Seizes Documents After Raiding 15 Locations in Pemalang Bribery Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a number of documents after searching 15 locations in four regions from 5 to 8 August 2026, related to an alleged extortion case involving the suspended Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that from the searches, investigators seized several documents, including those related to ongoing and future projects at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) of Pemalang Regency. KPK also seized evidence in the form of mobile phones and electronic documents from the 15 locations, comprising ten houses in Pemalang, two houses in Tegal, two houses in Pekalongan, and one house in Semarang. Additionally, the investigative team seized CCTV footage from a hotel in Magelang. The evidence will be analysed by KPK investigators to strengthen the additional evidence required in the investigation of this case, both to reinforce the case construction and to further investigate the roles of each party. On 30 July 2026, the KPK announced the results of a sting operation, stating that there were two clusters of cases. The first involves alleged extortion by Anom Widiyantoro against Pemalang Regency Government officials and private parties, with Anom Widiyantoro and his confidant, Mohamad Haris alias Gus Haris, named as suspects. The second involves alleged extortion by a police officer and his father against Anom Widiyantoro, with Setya Budi Dias, a police officer on duty at the KPK, and his father, Lilik Budi Suprianto, named as suspects.
